5 Facts: A snapshot of us…

  • QSNTS began operating on 1 July 2005.

  • We receive operational funding from the Australian Government through the National Indigenous Australians Agency, and are a Public Company Limited by Guarantee.

  • Our service area covers a diverse blend of urban, remote and regional communities that together span nearly two-thirds of Queensland.

  • As well as providing native title services at all stages of the journey, we advocate for reform and improvement of the system.

  • The Executive Team, between them, has 66 years of professional experience in Indigenous affairs.

How to apply

QSNTS is the native title service provider for the southern half of Queensland. Our workforce is comprised of legal, research, community relations and corporate staff. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are encouraged to apply for roles with QSNTS. Applications for advertised positions should be emailed to humanresources@qsnts.com.au as follows: 1. Obtain the position description, which describes the key capabilities of the role; 2. Write a letter of application (no greater than two pages) outlining how you meet the criteria of the position and submit along with your curriculum vitae; 3. Submit via e-mail to humanresources@qsnts.com.au by 5 pm on the application closing date.

Internships

QSNTS currently accepts interns through: - The Aurora Internship Program, which places legal and anthropological interns with native title representative bodies and service providers throughout the country - Practical Legal Training students through a university-run program - Other applications considered on a case-by-case basis Apply with Aurora

Compliments and Complaints Process

Apply for Assistance

Under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth), QSNTS may provide assistance to Traditional Owners only if requested to do so. The matter for which assistance is requested must also fall within the boundaries of our region of responsibility, and within the scope of our statutory functions. For more information about our statutory functions, requesting assistance and how QSNTS assesses requests for assistance, please see: The Policies and Procedures Relating to Performance Functions document. A brief outline of lodging a request for assistance is as follows:
  • Lodge a request for assistance by filling out the QSNTS Facilitation and Assistance Request Form and submit to QSNTS via e-mail, post or in-person at a QSNTS office.
  • QSNTS will undertake an initial assessment of the request.
  • An acknowledgment of the request is sent to requestor.
  • Within a reasonable timeframe QSNTS will make a decision.
  • The requestor is informed of the decision.
  • If the requestor is not satisfied with the outcome from QSNTS, they can may request an internal review.
  • If the requestor does not accept the outcome of the internal review, they may request an external review of the decision or action by the National Indigenous Australians Agency.
